| James Marshall Hendrix (Jimi Hendrix), died on this date in 1970 due to vommiting in his sleep. Some expert believe that if he were to be passed out in an upright position, he may have lived. He was born in Seattle, WS on November 27th in 1942. Late 1958 Jimi buys his first guitar for mearly five dollars. Soon after he had accomplished a few things he founded his first band, The Velvetones playing an acoustic guitar. In the Summer of 1959, Jimi's father buys him his first electric guitar, and he joins another band, The Rolling Kings. Jimi drops out of High-School in 1960, and joins the Army for basic training a year later. July 2nd, 1962 Jimi breaks his ankle, while landing, from parachuting in the Army. After being listed invalid Jimi leaves the Army. He then joins many bands for then next four years, making just enough money to live. Then on June 22nd, 1966 Jimi Hendrix is discovered by Linda Keith (Keith Richards girlfriend). They make love in a bathroom stall, and Linda gives Jimi one of Keith's Cream Fender Stratocaster asking one thing...he sings. After having to re-string and getting a new knut, Jimi makes the Strat left-handed and falls in love with it. Three months later, Jimi Hendrix is united to Mitch Mitchell (Percusion), and Noel Redding (Bassist). They then form The Jimi Hendrix Expirence. April 4th, 1967, the album "Are you Expirenced" is finished. With hit songs like Purple Haze, Hey Joe, and The Wind Cries Mary, The Expirence begin on their second album. On June 18, 1967, The Expirience play at the Monterey Pop Festival. Jimi Hendrix lit his guitar on fire as he's over-coming the Who's knock-out performance. Getting off stage Pete Townshend looking jealous of Jimi abilities, shakes his hand, and confessed Jimi had a better show than the Who. On October 30th 1967, the album "Axis, Bold as Love" is finished, with hit songs still coming off their first album. December 22nd, 1967, The Jimi Hendrix Expirence plays at the Christmas Pop Festival, with other bands like: The Who, Pink Floyd, Eric Burdon & The Animals, Soft Machine and The Move. March 13th, 1968 Jimi Hendrix jams with Jim Morrison, both parties were drunk. August 27, 1968, the album "Electric Ladyland" is finished (two disc). Soon after this release Noel Redding is replaced with Billy Cox (an old Army buddy of Jimi's). Later Mitch Mitchell is released due to starting a solo carrer, and Jimi scouts Billy Cox, Juma Sultan, and Buddy Miles to be called The Band of Gypsies. After just a little buz of albums Jimi Hendrix plays his last show alive, on September 16/17, 1970. The next day, Jimi was found unconscious in his Samarkend Hotel room. When paramedics could not revive him, they had pronounce Jimi dead. James Marshall Hendrix was buried in Greenwood Cemetary, Renton, Seattle on October 1st, 1970...he was just 27 years young. His music lives on...
